Le Petit Bungalow

So we have been working on the house over the course of the last few weeks. It's been a fun labor of love... (except for the bathroom window ... that has just been pure labor & headache!) Y'all may know that when we bought the house it had been "flipped" by the previous owner. So for the most part the major stuff had been done. New roof, new deck, gutted and updated kitchen, refinished hard woods... So most of what we've done is cosmetic with a few projects that have been a bit more labor intensive than expected. Marc would tell you that I have a tendency underestimate the potential difficulty of a project -- I just say I'm surprising handy for a little, southern girl. No wonder the 7th grade "C.E. skill aptitude" tests always said I'd be a painter or auto mechanic! ;o) So once I figure out how to organize photos on this site I'll post some before and afters... until then - I'm off to figure out how to make a petit radiator cover for the bathroom.  Too ta loo...

What this means to me.... La Vie En Rose

"Gertrude Stein once wrote 'America is my country and Paris is my hometown'. I'll always feel that way about Paris. I want so much for you to know what it has meant to me. Across the street someone is playing "La Vie En Rose". They do it for the tourists but I'm always surprised at how it moves me. It means seeing life through rose colored glasses. Only in Paris, where the light is pink, does that song make sense, but I'll have it in my pocket when I get home, and carry it with me where ever I go."~Sabrina Fairchild~
